Scott Cavanagh is a freelance journalist whose writing, editing, design and photography work has been featured in over 100 publications. Cavanagh's writing credits encompass over 1,000 articles and columns appearing in newspapers, magazines, business publications and websites including ThisWeek Newspapers, The Columbus Dispatch, The Historian, Wired, The Delaware Gazette and The Columbus Messenger. His column, Keeping Score, has run in over 50 publications and can be read regularly here and on Bark Back News. In addition, Cavanagh's newswriting, reporting and on-air skills have been utilized by WLVQ-FM-96 radio, Westwood One Networks and WBNS-10TV.

Based in Columbus, Ohio, Cavanagh is a native of New York City, and a graduate of Otterbein College, where he served as editor of the student newspaper, Tan and Cardinal.

Cavanagh's editing experience includes a wide variety of both media and business publications. He began his editing career as a sports editor and columnist for Hurt Publications, a chain of 14 weekly broadsheets. His column, Keeping Score, ran weekly in Hurt newspapers and continued through his time with The Dispatch Company--where he served as a publications editor at ThisWeek. During his tenure with Hurt/ThisWeek, Cavanagh served as editor of Northland ThisWeek, The Grove City Record, South-Western ThisWeek and The Worthington News. Scott was the co-creator and editor of Wired.net and is the editor and publisher of BarkBackNews.com.

Scott's business and non-profit work is extensive and diverse. He has worked as a publications editor for The Longaberger Company, as a marketing specialist for Hewlett-Packard and Compuware Corporation and as a web designer for DotHQ.com and WiseEdge Solutions. His non-profit experience includes work as communications director for The Wildlife Legislative Fund of America, The Wildlife Conservation Fund and The Ohio Credit Union League. He has served on the board of trustees of The Darby Creek Association and Raymond Peterson International.

A news photographer since high school, Scott Cavanagh's photos have appeared alongside news and sports articles in dozens of daily and weekly newspapers for over 20 years. His corporate and marketing work has been featured in small business publications and major corporate annuals.
